This site was designed by physicians to help patient's and their family members understand details of various disease states or conditions and the interventions that are used to treat them. We will deal with simple measures such as lifestyle modification to complex procedures such as coronary artery stenting and aortic aneurysm repair.

The educational concept and design were developed by Abdulla M. Abdulla, MD, FACP, FACC, who is a Clinical Professor of Medicine and prior Chief of Cardiology at the Medical College of Georgia. He is the Medical Editor, designer, developer and a major contributor of educational material for HeartSite.com and CardiologySite.com. Dr. Abdulla is a practicing cardiologist at University Hospital in Augusta, GA and  has been on the Best Doctors in America list on multiple occasions. He has over 30 years of experience in computer-based learning and has applied innovative technology in teaching medical students and patients since the early 1980's. He is the recipient of a dozen ‘Teacher of the Year’ awards from the Medical College of Georgia and was the founding Medical Editor of ‘Physicians & Computers’ for over a decade. He is also a former Teaching Scholar of The American Heart Association and has lectured internationally on computer-based medical education. Dr. Abdulla is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and American College of Physicians. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Pacemakers and was elected to the AOA Honors society. Dr. Abdulla has published multiple research studies and has written chapters in medical text books. He is also the Chairman, Chief Medical Officer and Founder of Nesticon.com, an innovative EMR (electronic medical records) company.
