Psychoanalyst:
A psychoanalyst is a specific kind of psychotherapist: someone licensed to practice the methods of Sigmund Freud. Psychoanalysis is an area of psychology that focuses on unconscious thoughts, feelings and experiences, as outlined by Freud. A trained psychanalyst (almost always a psychologist or psychiatrist) works with patients to discover their hidden emotions and motivations. Psychoanalytic therapy can be beneficial for someone struggling with depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, alcoholism or drug addiction. This is because by identifying and exploring underlying mental or emotional issues, a person working with a psychoanalyst might have an easier time dealing with or overcoming these problems.
